Colleen was born in Chicopee, MA, April 21, 1963, to Mike and Pat Hinnebusch, one of four children: Daniel, Kathleen, Colleen, and Maureen. The oldest of 2 twins by 5 minutes, her twin sister, Maureen, teased her for decades about being an “older sister.”
Because of Mike’s military service, Colleen moved frequently, attending 4 grade schools and 3 middle school/junior highs. Outgoing, funny, and blessed with natural charm, Colleen made lots of friends everywhere, excelled at sales starting with Girl Scout cookies, and was always game for something new or an adventure. Organized, energetic, efficient, and with an extraordinary work ethic, her presence benefited professional and volunteer work for 4 decades. She frequently welcomed people who needed a place to stay or live temporarily, asking nothing in return. Pets who needed loving care shared her life, too.
The highlight of her life was her children – Kaitlin, Austin, and Victoria -, daughter-in-law Makenzie, and granddaughters – Olivia and Molly Ann. They were the most frequent topic of conversation and text messages as she extolled their efforts and accomplishments. She was unceasingly proud of them. Pictures of family covered two walls in her home.
Her sarcasm and quips will be remembered as bringing levity in almost any situation. She will be cremated because, as a sign in her house states, “Cremation is my last chance for a smoking hot body!”
