He is survived by his wife, Maureen Nelson and his children Marilee (Rob), Kelly (Charlie), Rachele (Jim), and David (Nora), grandchildren, Kaitlyn Henninger (Joe), David (Mareina), Luke, Emily and Sarah Downs, and Great grandchildren, Allison and Joseph Henninger.
Born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, Dave was an engineer and firefighter with the Westland Fire Department, and the founder of Downs Orthodontic Lab.
