Eloy Galvan was born to the late Pedro and Refugia Galvan a butcher and a homemaker in Harlingen Texas May 6th 1959. He was the youngest of 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He was and will forever be remembered as a hard working dedicated loving son, brother ,husband ,father, and grandfather.
Eloy attended The University of Texas Pan American Brownsville where he worked on a degree in business and art and obtained an Associates degree. An entrepreneur at heart, he went on to become the successful proprietor of The Carpet Shop in Harlingen Texas for over 22 years . It was here where he fostered the love for making homes more beautiful working alongside several building contractors and homeowners. Later health issues would help Eloy decide to pursue a license in real estate. At that point The Carpet Shop closed its doors. He immersed himself in selling commercial and residential real estate and coupled that with investing in properties to buy, renovate, and sell. He became the proprietor of House Beautiful Renovations in Harlingen Texas and successfully renovated and sold several houses across the Rio Grande Valley and the east coast. Eloy never shied away from a challenge and hard work. All his homes had his signature workmanship. With his artistic eye he made all his homes beautiful adding his own flare and style, thereby making his visions for his properties a reality. His love for creating and recreating beautiful properties filled his life professionally. He knew that home was where the heart was and worked on making that possible for many families.
As a father he gave his five children, Eloy Jr, Melissa Sue, Eric James, Peter Paul and Jacob Andrew. the best life he could. He was a father first, making sure he was home when they got home from school and then taking them to any and all extracurricular school activities. His pride were his children and he never ever missed any of their events. He always said his motivation for being a business owner was his children, they were the driving force in every decision he made. He enjoyed the flexibility he had to put them first for every day of his life. He worked hard in his early years supporting them in every sense of that word. He skipped meals and started his day extra early to be home early for them. He lived humbly and modestly and did everything he could to give his 5 children every necessity in life and more. Every weekend was filled with fun family activities he would plan and every summer there were always awesome vacations for them as well .
As a grandfather he showed love , compassion and caring and everyone loved "grammpy' or "grandpa". His grandchildren knew him as "silly" and a "jokester" always making them laugh with his jokes and stories. Or even singing and dancing in the aisles of the stores he would take them too. The last words he spoke were of his children and grandchildren . Words of happy memories made, and planned activities yet to come. Family and the love of his family togetherness kept him fighting to the very last second of his life and continued togetherness were part of his final wishes.
Eloy and his wife Diana were married for 43 wonderful years. They met and immediately fell in love. They were engaged two months later and married 4 months later. Their marriage was a real life love story. He was the center of her universe and she his. Together they overcame any and all obstacles that came their way and although the odds may have been stacked against the young couple at the onset they overcame every one of them.
There is truth to love never fails and their marriage proved it. Together they raised 5 successful adults. Diana's love for him only grew stronger and he was and always will be the love of her life, the gatekeeper of her heart and soul . Before Eloy passed he told her they had a problem, the problem he said was they loved each other to much...neither of them were willing to let go . Diana will wait for the day he comes for her and they will be reunited once again in God's kingdom.
Eloy passed away on February 25th 2023 and will be laid to rest on March 7th 2023 at Restlawn Memorial. Eloy was 63.
