

We celebrate the life of George Emerson Rayburn, who passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2025, at the age of 66. A storyteller, free spirit, and most of all beloved Brother, Uncle and Loyal Friend. George left an unforgettable impact on everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
Born on January 20, 1959, in Harlingen, Texas. George was the eighth of ten children born to Eva Mae (Brent) Rayburn and Leroy Sidney Rayburn.
George worked in construction and was proud to have worked his way up to running his own company Rayburn Construction Where he was known to give as honest businessman and a hard worker with excellent results!
When he wasn’t on a job George could be found at the golf course golfing in tournaments. He enjoyed taking his dogs to play at the beach and, once in a while throwing a line in the water when he got the chance. He was particularly close with his nephew Jonathan Brown and friend Ricky.
George is survived by his son Jared McClure siblings Margaret Judson (Charles), Tommy Rayburn (La Verne), Dale Rayburn (Debra) and Linda Cunningham (Mike), sisters-in-law Mary Rayburn (Jack) and Donna Rayburn (Jimmy). The Brown family, many friends that were like family, and too many nieces and nephews and their families to count.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eva Mae (Brent) Rayburn and Leroy Sidney Rayburn. Sister Janet Wood and Her husband Dallas Wood, Brothers Roy (Jack) Rayburn, Jimmy Rayburn, Kenith (Kenny) Rayburn. Brother-in-law Ted Brown Teds parents Oleane and Clifford Brown, Nephews Dennis Wood and David Starkey.
George’s life wasn’t always easy, but he lived it to the fullest and although he sometimes took a harder road at the end was someone that you could be proud to call family or friend! This is not Goodbye it’s see you later! We will see you again someday. Until then we love you! Rest Easy!
