Jorge Martinez

He served our country for 24 years in the United States Air Force being given the opportunity to travel to many countries, in turn making many memories to share with his family as he grew older. After retiring from the Air Force Jorge worked for the U.S. Customs Border Patrol for 20 years and retired from Del Rio Texas Border Patrol Station. Once retired Jorge returned to his hometown of La Feria, Texas where he shared many joyful memories with his loving wife Eva Vento Martinez of 62 years. Jorge had an energetic and supportive outlook on life where he enjoyed cheering on his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren on any adventure he was able to be a part of. The breakfast table is where Jorge thrived in sharing every memory and life lesson to all his family and friends to pave the way in a successful and wonder life.

Jorge is preceded in death by his parents, (son) Javier Eloy Martinez, (Grandson) Jorge Martinez III , (Son in-law) Rogelio Rios. He leaves behind his (wife) Eva Vento Martinez, (sister) Amy De la Cruz, and children (son) Jorge Martinez Jr. , (son) Diego Martinez , (Daughter) Yolanda Martinez, (Daughter) Sylvia Rios, and (Daughter) Mia Cantu. Also leaving behind the fruits to his eyes 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, being a part of all their milestones in life. Jorge was the grandfather who was proud to hold the title of being called “Grandpa”. His memory will continue to live through every heart he was blessed to touch.

A memorial service for Jorge will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559, followed by a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.
