Juan was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the stillness of a quiet lake as much as in the lively hum of a country song. His love for fishing was unmatched, often spending his weekends by the water, casting his line with patience and hope for the next big catch. Those who knew him well could always count on him to share the best fishing spots and offer tips, never without a smile.
His heart beat to the rhythm of country music, and there was no artist more dear to him than Johnny Cash and George Jones. Whether he was listening to the soulful twang of Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” or the honky-tonk sound of Jones’ “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” Juan’s love for these iconic musicians was something that defined his spirit and resonated deeply with all who shared in those moments with him.
Juan had an easygoing, kind nature that drew people in. He had a gift for making friends wherever he went and was always ready with a good story or a helping hand. His laughter and infectious smile will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his children Leticia V. Correa, Rigoberto Villegas, Juan F. Villegas, and David Villegas, who were the pride and joy of his life, as well as by his siblings, nieces, nephews, and a host of close friends. His legacy of love for his family, his passion for fishing, and his devotion to country music will live on in all who loved him. He is preceded by his loving wife Maria V. Villegas, and his parents Gilberto and Antonia V. Villegas.
A visitation for Juan will be held Monday, February 3, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM.
Rest in peace, Juan. You’ll be missed more than words can say, but your legacy will live on in every cast of a line and every country tune played in your honor.
