

Born June 27, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa, Larry grew up in Denver, Iowa. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army for four years. Following his service, Larry worked as a delivery driver for 7-UP and Pepsi, later spending time as a painter and general maintenance worker. Throughout his life, he made his home in Denver, Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, and Fayette, Iowa, before eventually retiring in Kentucky and later moving to South Texas.
Larry enjoyed a life of leisure in retirement, where he could often be found in conversation with friends or playing cribbage with his daughter.
He is survived by his children: Andra (Denny) Adams of Kentucky, Michelle (Eric) Grate of Kentucky, Amanda (Dexter) Schrader of Texas, and Russell (Whitney) Schrader of Arkansas; his sister, Loris Schrader of Cedar Rapids; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Estella (Bentley) Schrader; his siblings, LaVerne Schrader, Lyle Schrader, and Linda White.
In keeping with Larry’s wishes, no formal service will be held. A celebration of his life will take place with family on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Larry will be remembered for his service to his country, his years of hard work, and the love he had for his family and friends. He was well liked by those who knew him, known for his quick wit, intelligence, and sense of humor, which brought laughter and warmth to many moments throughout his life.
