

Mary Delois Glasgow Tucker, 87, passed away on July 12, 2021, at Golden Palms Retirement Center in Harlingen, Texas. Known to family and friends as "Dee," and to her grand- and great- grandchildren as "Dee Dee," she was born June 12, 1934 in Damon, Texas, to Thomas Bluford and Laura Myrtle Glasgow, the ninth of ten children.
After graduating from Orangefield High School, Dee was working as a clerk in the Brazoria County Courthouse in Angleton, when she met the love of her life, Joseph John “Joe” Tucker. After a brief courtship, they were married at her Uncle Olin and Aunt Billie Wafer's home in Angleton on April 12, 1952 Two years later, Joe and Dee moved to La Feria, where they raised their three children. Dee worked for the La Feria Independent School District as a substitute teacher and aide. Later in life, she was a tour guide with Go With Jo Tours and Travel.
Dee was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and, with Joe, attended innumerable La Feria sporting and band events. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, painting, cooking, playing bridge, card and board games, gardening, and crossword puzzles, but her special love was sharing experiences with Joe on RV trips and world travels.
Dee is survived by her daughter Cheryl Dee Zinsmeyer (Max Diaz), San Antonio; sons Joel Brian Tucker (Ann), Sugar Land, and John Gary Tucker (Liz), Houston; grandchildren R. Allen Clary, Los Angeles, CA; Ashley Dee Clary-Carpenter (Mike), San Antonio; Meredith Sue Tucker Huff (Clayton), Houston; Bethany Elise Tucker Taylor (Travis), Dripping Springs; and Joseph Ransom Tucker, Katy; great-granddaughters Cara Dee and Maya Mae Carpenter and Grace Elizabeth Huff; sister-in-law Kaye Glasgow, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her nine siblings: Clarence Elton Glasgow, Theo Wilburn Glasgow, Cecil Marie Haas, Clara Dell Emerson, Lloyd Ronald Glasgow, Claude Ray Glasgow, Ruby Faye Arbour, Robert Lee Glasgow, and Phillip Earl Glasgow.
Private services will be held for the immediate family.
