It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Scott Hernandez, who left this world on September 1, 2025, at the age of 50. Michael endeavored to live his life with a mild and quiet spirit, finding joy in the simple things and deeply cherishing his family, friends, and faith.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Nicole; his brother-in-law Patrick McCulley and his wife, Nguyen, along with their daughter, Chloe; his father-in-law Michael McCulley and his wife, Joanne; his parents, Ronald and Lynn Hernandez; his brothers, Eric and Jason Hernandez; and his sister, Sheri Hernandez. He is also mourned by his aunts and uncles Frank and Yvonne, Joe and Cristina, Jerry and Galia, Steven and Anita, and Shawn and Susan, as well as his cousins Ruth, Serah, Terah, Jacob, Katherine, Nicholas, Megan, and Travis. Additionally, Michael will be missed by many second cousins and grand uncles and aunts from the Chapa, Lopez, Bowman, and Copeland families.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Michael devoted much of his life to sharing the good news of God's Kingdom with others, believing wholeheartedly in the blessings to come for mankind, where death would be no more. His ministry took him from San Antonio to Harlingen, where he continued to share his faith and expand his efforts, even taking a memorable trip to the Dominican Republic to further his ministry.
In his professional life, Michael helped manage Aloe Laboratories in Harlingen, a local processor of aloe vera products, where he worked diligently and with great pride. His dedication to his work and his community will not be forgotten.
A passionate reader and lifelong learner, Michael was known for his quiet intelligence and his love for exploring new ideas. Together with his wife, Nicole, Michael also found immense joy in caring for their pets and traveling the world. They explored the beauty of state and national parks and embarked on memorable journeys to Italy, Puerto Rico, and Japan, creating lasting memories along the way.
Michael’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and faith. He leaves behind a legacy of peace, quiet strength, and a heart full of compassion. His family and friends will hold him in their hearts forever, finding comfort in the knowledge that Michael’s faith in the Kingdom’s promises will continue to guide them.
Michael’s memory will live on through the lives he touched with his quiet grace and unwavering faith.
A visitation for Michael will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559. Following the visitation will be a talk from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.
