Sabina Leyva Torres

Sabina loved cooking traditional Zacatecan cuisine for her family and friends. Her hobbies included canning nopales and tomatoes with her beloved son Ernesto. She enjoyed playing chalupa on weekends with her daughters and granddaughters. She loved to knit and crochet beautiful tablecloths. Her biggest passion in life was providing a loving environment for her family.

Survived by her children, Leticia Tavera, Julia ( † Arvelio) Garcia, Gustavo (Marta) Torres,Jr, Olga (Claude) Haynes, Maria Elena (Hector) Fuentes, Jose Julio (Carolina) Torres, Maria Guadalupe (Rolando) Monsevalles, Ernesto L. Torres, Lucilla (Ricardo) Melendez, Rosemary (David) Kithcart, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, Julio and Florencia Fernandez Leyva, Her beloved husband of 61 years Gustavo Torres Sr, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, one infant son Julio Torres and 1 great grandson Julian Melendez.

A visitation for Sabina will be held Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559. A rosary will occur Sunday, June 20, 2021 at 6:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Monday, June 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption, Harlingen, Texas. A burial will occur Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Restlawn Memorial Park, 14166 E Business 83, La Feria, Texas 78559.
