I'll always remember pulling up to the Serna home and the first to greet us with a smile was Mr. Serna. 
Apart from being welcoming he always made sure we were invited to family BBQs, Thanksgivings, and New Year events. Thank you Joe for always making my brother and I feel like part of the family. We were deeply sadden by your passing but we will always fondly remember you and the kindness and generosity you and your family gave us.

Memory we were meant to be in each others life. We were at a Quince and you started to tell me that to not be mean and call my parents. You were kind of getting after me. When my husband may he RIP told you that you that there is three sides of the story my parents side, our side and the truth. So he said before you get after us to hear our story and judge for himself. Which you said for us to go to your house and you were very interested in hearing what we had to say. From that day on we became best of friends.  RIP Jose......Missing you so much :)

When Cheke and I first got together back in 1992, we lived in Harlingen. Tio Jose was the closest relative Cheke had, so he visited whenever! Those barbecues and hang outs were the best! Because of this move, Cheke created this beautiful bond with his Tio Jose. Tio and tia have been the best examples to the Serna family of what family truly is! Making those weekend rounds visiting everyone! I can honestly say that we are truly blessed to have had you in our lives! You will forever be in our hearts! Until we meet again TIO. Rest In Peace 🙏🏽❤️ 


My fondest memories of my Tio Jose, he was our out of towner lived in Harlingen, TX not soo far from La Villa but he was our Sunday visitor looked forward to his and tia Delia's visits when we were little we certainly looked forward to the visit because he would give us money for the little store walking distance to us, we knew we were getting money to buy candy.  And as we got older the tradition never changed now he would visit us as adults in our own homes never failed love you my tio Jose RIP I will never forget you love you.


My uncle was the most caring person. Everytime I saw him he always had a smile on his face. He never had nothing bad to say about no one. Be strong Tia. He will always be in our hearts. We will miss you tio, till we meet again. I love you. 

The one thing that I will never forget is the nickname he'd call me by CHONGO. I will never forget the bbqs we would have when i were little or the dances that we'd all go to.  But above all seeing him dance with my tia. ❤

Your smile that greeted us instantly when we would visit or you would visit us will always hold a special place in my heart. The unconditional love that you had and showed  your grandkids and myself  was like no other. You always made me feel welcomed and loved no matter what! And I will forever miss you telling me "let's dance" whether it was at a BBQ at home or at a wedding or quinceanera. You will be missed dearly but I know that you are looking down on us from above and your spirit will live on in us. The only comfort I find is knowing that isn't goodbye but that we will meet again one day ❤️

Meeting my dads side of the family for the first time when I was 12 was hard because I missed so much time with all of them, especially our sweet AMA. But the first time I met Tio Jose he hugged and kissed me like I was always around.  He Always showed me love. My sweet heart of gold uncle will always be remembered for just that. His heart of gold

You will be missed dearly gone but never forgotten I remember the time when y'all went to Greeley Colorado to visit my Jefitos.. the words you would always say to my dad Texas Ranger number one we all love you Primo until we meet again,😢

Jose was the most amazing Father-in-law to me and an even more amazing grandfather to the first Serna grandson my son Jose Pablo Serna jr.  For the past 15 years not one Birthday would pass without him calling me to wish me a Happy Birthday! He never forgot ! And he would Always say “ I’ll never forget your birthday ”  My son was his side kick every Saturday going to la villa with his grandpa spending the day with family. Jose we miss you so very much. 😢 But we know one day we will see you again!

A hard working man and a devoted father and husband. He lived for just Bbqing and spending time with his beautiful wife and kids. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My deepest condolences to The whole Serna Family....Gone but never forgotten.. 🖤🖤🖤

I know how much your heart is hurting right now.  I know it's never going to heal. But one thing for sure no one will take sway the beautiful memories you made with him. Your life now will make you into a special and stroger women. Love both of you forever.
