Sergio Villasana 80 years of age, entered into his eternal rest on April 5, 2026, in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 22, 1946 in Coxcatlán, San Luis Potosi to Petra Gonzalez and Pablo Villasana.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Blandina Gonzalez Ortiz; father, Pablo Villasana; brother, Vicente Villasana; and mother, Petra Gonzalez.
Sergio married the love of his life, Emma, in a small ceremony at the Brownsville courthouse. Together they created a home filled with love, strength, and unwavering devotion just outside of Los Fresnos, Texas.
Sergio dedicated much of his life to hard work and sacrifice. As the oldest sibling, he left school at the young age of eight to help provide for his family in Ciudad Valles. He spent his early days shining shoes and washing semi-trucks learning the value of perseverance and responsibility. As a teenager, he drove a truck and delivered supplies for a local store and served in the Mexican military for a year already carrying a strong sense of duty beyond his years.
At the age of 23, he came to the United States in search of greater opportunities and a better future. Over the years, he worked tirelessly in many roles including as a factory worker, shrimp fisherman, electrician, and in maintenance, always doing what it took to support his family. He found his calling as a school bus driver with the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District where he served with dedication and care for the students for 27 years until his retirement.
Despite his incredibly busy life, Sergio made time to achieve an important milestone. He became a lawful permanent resident and with determination and pride, he went on to pass his English and Civics tests. After taking the Oath of Allegiance, he became a proud citizen of the United States. Sergio took his responsibilities as a citizen to heart. He was a registered voter who stayed informed on the issues and candidates, and he made it a priority to vote in every federal and state election.
During his retirement years, Sergio found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. He took pride working and beautifying his yard. He always tended to his plants and was proud of his vibrant blooming flowers. He also stayed busy with his honey-do projects around his home and enjoyed painting ceramic figures to add to his garden. Sergio was also an exceptional cook and enjoyed cooking his favorite dishes to share with those he loved. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sergio took the time to converse and make connections with each one of them. He attended all of their important events like birthday parties, orchestra concerts, football games, dance performances, graduation ceremonies, and their weddings. He was always present in their lives and always expressed his love for them. In quieter moments he enjoyed watching shows on Animal Planet, the Discovery Channel, and the History Channel, but above all else, he truly treasured spending time with his beloved wife, Emma. Together they went on quiet drives, watched movies and every morning enjoyed a cup of coffee together sharing and reminiscing about their wonderful life.
Sergio was an extraordinary man who will be remembered for his strong work ethic, remarkable problem-solving skills, and witty sense of humor. Above all, he will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Emma Villasana; his loving children, Veronica Villasana Treviño (Gabriel), Venessa Villasana Juarez (Isaac), Sergio Villasana Jr. (Angelica); and his cherished grandchildren, Gabriel Treviño Jr. (Nancy), Victoria Hernandez (Jesse), Clarissa Vasquez (Giovanni), Viviana Juarez (Eduardo Martinez), Isaac Juarez Jr., Orlando Juarez, Adam Villasana, and Thomas Villasana.
