Sonia is survived by her husband, Marcelo Mata; her son Jose Angel Mata; her son Marcos Mata; and her son Arturo Rodriguez; her brother Miguel Angel Mata, her brother Octaviano Rodriguez, her brother Rosendo Rodriguez, her brother Luis Rodriguez, her brother Martin Rodriguez, her brother Roberto Rodriguez, her sister Hilda Gonzales, her sister Belia Inguanzo, her brother Jorge Rodriguez, her brother Geni Rodriguez, her brother Raphael Rodriguez, her sister Aracely Gutierrez, her sister Olga Bravo and her sister Dolores Maldonado.

Sonia was preceded in death by her father Agustin Rodriguez; her father-in-law Roberto Mata and her mother-in-law Elena Sanchez.

A visitation for Sonia will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, Texas 78559. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church., 920 Anaquitas Sr, Mercedes, TX 78570. A burial will occur Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Restlawn Memorial Park., La Feria, TX 78559.
