Teresa had an unwavering faith in God and her family always relied on her prayers for safety, health, or any other life challenges. Her prayers availed much.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Gumercindo and Isabel Guerra; son, Everardo Cavazos; brothers, Manuel Guerra Cardoza and Roberto Guerra, and her sister, Evangelina Martinez.
She is survived by her children, Graciela Perez (Carlos) from Harlingen, Bertha Cavazos from Montgomery, Texas, Juan Guerra (Diane) from Seattle, Washington, Pilar Tovar, Isabel Tovar Fernandez and Irene Tovar Garcia from Harlingen, Facundo “Chico” Tovar (Daisy) from San Antonio and Esmeralda Tovar Rocha (Richard) and Jose Luis Tovar (Yvette) from the Dallas area; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Hermelinda Guerra Mata from Houston, Texas, Alicia Guerra from Allende, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and Lydia Guerra from San Antonio, Texas.
The family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude for the love and care provided by her granddaughter, Jennifer Lincoln, and all other family members and extended caregivers.
Visitation will be held today, January 26, from 1 pm to 9 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 27, at 10 am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Heavenly Grace Cemetery.
Pall bearers will include Juan Guerra, Facundo “Chico” Tovar, Joe Tovar, Jonathan Rocha, Stephen Garcia, Ruben Peña and Roman Tovar (Honorary).
