Norma Zamora was born to Valentin and Maria de la Luz Noyola on August 24th, 1954 in San Benito, Texas, the youngest of 7 siblings (Leonel, Ruben, Arnaldo, Ricardo, Ramiro, and Socorro). Norma was a proud graduate of San Benito High School, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Pan American University and a Masters Degree in Library Science from Sam Houston State University. Her passion for literature led her to the position of Head Librarian for Harlingen High School South and she received the Librarian of the Year Award for the State of Texas in 2003.
In the summer of 1985, Norma and Rolando entered into a covenant of marriage with Christ. They cherished their life and faith together and were like two peas in a pod until the Lord called her home.
Out of her many accomplishments she was most proud of becoming a mother. Her love for her daughter was one of a kind and unending.
Norma was loved and cherished by all of her nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends. Norma never left a room without leaving a smile on the faces of everyone she was with.
