

Vera was married 67 years to the love of her life, Bob, who proceeded her in death.
Vera and Bob's kids include Deb (Glenn) Haueisen of Palm Valley, Texas, Joyce Antle (Bob, deceased) Puccio of Sanibel Island, Florida, David (Liz) Hopkins of Raymondville, Texas, Patty Hopkins of Buckeye Lake, Ohio ; and Hamid Hashimi of Tehran, Iran. Grandchildren, Paul (Tracie) Haueisen, Wildwood, Missouri, Ben (Melissa, deceased) Antle Hebron, Ohio; Zak (Chelsea) Antle, London, Ohio; Ashley Holladay, San Antonio, Texas; Alex( Brittany ) Hopkins, Columbus, Ohio; and thirteen great grandchildren. Vera’s family also includes her sisters and brother, Bertie (Bill) Miller, Darlene (Wilner) Ankrom, Bill (Sharon) West , and brother and sister in Christ, Jesus/Elena Guizman.
Vera and Bob met in high school. Vera went on to study nursing at Mt. Carmel Nursing School in Columbus, Ohio. While in school, she married Bob on October 7, 1953.
During their life together Vera and Bob lived in Virginia, Ohio, Iran (Tehran), and Texas. Vera was a stay at home Mom until her kids were all in school. Once established in school, Vera worked at doctor's offices and once her children were grown, transitioned to the corporate world working at Nationwide Insurance's Medicare division.
During Vera’s time in Columbus, Ohio she was a member of the Southwood Church of Christ. In Harlingen, Texas she was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church.
The family would like to thank the Treasure Hills Residential Care Home's staff for their exceptional care of Vera during her final months and days. Extra gratitude goes to Dr. Shridhar Kotta and staff for their continuous availability, care, concern, and counsel for Vera and the entire family.
Vera has now moved on to be with Bob again. Their reunion in the spiritual world will be matched by one in the physical world when their ashes will be interred together in Buckeye Lake, Ohio. A celebration of life for the two of them will occur this summer.
