Annette most cherished her family and their gatherings. She participated in activities simply for the fun of being together—even if sports victories weren’t in the cards for her!
Annette was deeply proud of her more than 30 years of sobriety and used this accomplishment to sponsor others to overcome their own addictions.
Later in life, Annette discovered a calling as a foster parent where she fostered a child with special needs for six years until her health would not allow her to continue.
In her most recent years, Annette found joy in creating her own little farmstead, where she loved raising chickens, canning, sharing her harvest, and delivering fresh eggs to family and friends.
Above all else, even during the most troubled periods of her life, Annette clung to the hope her Catholic faith gave her. She would often share her gratitude for her parents that they provided the tools needed to obtain an early Catholic education which allowed her to receive the sacraments of the Church.
Annette left us with the example of courage, humility, and the value of redemption. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her godmother, Clara Hartley; her sisters, Brenda Jo Mefford and Marilyn Mefford; her niece, Lindsay Angell; her great-nephew, Matthew Stoess; her brother-in-law, Jimmy Angell; and Jessika’s father, Dale Truitt.
