Bobby Joe Simpson Sr.

Bobby was a man of deep passion and dedication, especially to his children and grandchildren. He took pride in simple joys—working in the yard and washing his car and going to the horse track. However, his greatest devotion was to the game of basketball and the countless young lives he impacted over his remarkable 52-year career as a coach. His commitment to the sport and to his community was honored with his induction into the 8th Region Hall of Fame, and the Green County Kentucky Sports Hall Of Fame where he attended high school.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, James Corey Simpson.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Kelli Roy (Gene), John Douglas Simpson (Angie), and Bobby Joe Simpson Jr. (Kim); daughter-in-law, Alyson Cooper Simpson; Sister, Linda Houck; his grandchildren: Olivia Simpson, Eron Roy, Travis Roy, Chris Vest, Jacob Simpson, Jared Simpson, Joerdan Simpson, Caleb Simpson, Luke Simpson, and Gracie Simpson; seven great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who were touched by his generous heart.

Bobby's legacy of kindness and mentorship will live on in all who knew him.

A visitation for Bobby will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Lagrange Baptist Church, 1139 Commerce Pkwy, La Grange, KY 40031, followed by a funeral service beginning at 4:00 PM

Burial to follow at Valley Of Rest in LaGrange.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, AGAPE Nashville and HighPoint Charitable Services.
