I just came across this picture of Maxwell I remember him from our youth group at Highland Presbyterian Church.  I was not real close to him then and we never met up after those brief few magical years.  I was greatly saddened when I saw this.  I’m sure he was a wonderful person and I wish I could have met later in life.

I worked with Valerie many years ago in the Courthouse but  never met Max until a chance encounter at the Holiday Manor barber shop a few years ago. I recognized him and their youngest son from Valerie’s Facebook photos. 

Max kept his son occupied during his haircut by playing a game of going through all the states alphabetically and naming their largest cities. Seeing him play along and smiling with his son was like being in a Hallmark movie, but more genuine. He was an incredibly loving father and his sons are blessed to have been raised by such a loving man. 

 I have fond memories of Max and Don H. storytelling and lots of laughter. Max was always positive and was a peace keeper ,  God bless Max

Max treasured his family and constantly memorialized his loved ones in photos.  So it is fitting to pay tribute to and learn from his committed love and service.  
I'm sure Max could have done a much better job than this phone  photo I took at a birthday celebration in La Grange.  But if he were the photographer, I would have missed this "profile" of three generations of stellar men in the lives of the Shannon and Lammlein families.  I would include in that count of fabulous family members those just outside the "frame" of this particular photo - all blessed to have been nurtured and  inspired by creative and fun-loving women who have so deeply loved  them.

With such sadness and family love I offer condolence to my cousin's family.  Max was my cousin - my age, my counterpart. My strongest childhood memories include being at Uncle Max and Aunt Melva's house in KY playing on the Big Wheels in the back yard, spending the night and getting in trouble for staying awake and talking and laughing way too late.  I'm happy to read about the wonderful things and special ways Max gave to his wife and kids-I'm sure he felt very lucky and blessed and it's good to know he felt very loved. It's surprising how many things Max and I have in common - art history, paralegal, 2 sons, and more.  The last time we were together was at our grandma's house in Titusville, FL and it felt so good to be with him and McClellan, Uncle Max, and and our grandma, Aldean.  I regret that we didn't stay in closer touch, but I called Max after the last time we saw each other to talk about family matters with someone I trusted - I remember him being calm and pragmatic. He's in my heart forever and I pray for love and blessings to his dad, Valerie, William and Harrison, McClellan and family.  RIP, sweet Maxwell. Love, Kathy

I worked with Max for several years at LG&E & KU in the Law Dept.  I was there when he was hired, and we were thrilled he came on board.  He was the consummate professional and a great coworker.  Max had a kind as well as humorous personality.  He talked many times about Valerie, Will and Harrison, whom he loved so much.  He'll be missed greatly.  
My prayers to Valerie, Will, Harrison and his entire family.
