
David proudly served his country in the United States Army. Throughout his life he held many roles, including working as a correctional officer. He was an accomplished airbrush artist, 3rd-degree black belt and had a passion for motorcycle riding. David especially loved spending time on the water with friends and family, whom he cherished deeply.
He had a great love and respect for American Indian heritage. David was adopted by the Lenape Tribe, which led to his name changing to WhiteEagle.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Rogers; his sister, Suella Gonzales; his son, Lee Alvarez Rogers; his daughter, Michelle Swan Rogers; and his grandson, Justin.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Terri WhiteEagle; his siblings, Freddy Rogers (Patsy), Frank Blackhawk, and Nancye Rogers; and his grandchildren, Michael, Thomas, and Quinton. He is also survived by 11 nieces, 5 nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, Kentucky, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Rev. Bob Hall and Nephew Carl Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to St. Joseph’s Indian School, 1301 N. Main Street, Chamberlain, South Dakota 57325.
