Dixie was a member of LaGrange Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles on the computer, and completing coloring books. In her earlier years, she also loved cross-stitching and embroidery, hobbies that reflected her creativity and patience.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Sanders; her son, Rick Sanders; her sisters, Mary and Roselyn; and brother, Robert.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debbie Roberts (Mark); daughter-in-law, Tina Sanders; grandchildren, Josh Roberts (Emily), Rachel Turner (Michael), Jessica Stigall (Adam), Christopher Sanders, and Matthew Sanders (Trish); great-grandchildren, Gracie, Jacob, Seth, Maggie, Claire, James, Shepard, Poppy, and Harper; along with extended family and friends.
A celebration of Dixie’s life will be held at Crestwood Baptist Church on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 11am with a time of gathering from 10am until the start of the service. Burial will take place in Cypress Cemetery in Cypress, Illinois next to her husband.
