

She was born in South Williamsport, PA on January 29, 1918 to the late Charles Earnest and Catherine Esther (Gockley) Brown.
Dortha graduated from the University of Pennsylvania College of Nursing and served in the Navy as a Registered Nurse during WWII, stationed in Hawaii for 7 years where she achieved the rank of Lieutenant. When she met the love of her life, Alfred Savage, a pilot In the United States Air Force during WWII she left the Navy to start a family, Until retirement Dortha raised her sons and later worked as an RN for a general practitioner in addition to using her nursing skills in the care of family members especially in their later years.
The youngest of 9 she is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 8 siblings.
Left to cherish the memory of Dortha are her sons; Anthony Savage and wife Kathy, Michael Savage and wife Carol, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous friends and extended family.
Interment will be held at Mound Cemetery in Williamsport Cemetery at a later date.
