She was born to the late Otho S and Ann Peyton Rodgers in Franklinton, Kentucky on April 26, 1933.
Julia enjoyed crafting, especially the gourds she grew, crafter, and entered into craft shows. She was a member of Point Pleasant Christian Church of Eminence. Julia and her husband Fuzzy owned and operated Shaw's Grocery in Buckner from 1966-1991.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Charles, Walter, and Jessie; granddaughter, Erin Shaw.
Left to cherish the memory of Julia are her husband of 70 years, James "Fuzzy" Shaw; children, Kevin Russell Shaw (Diane), Traci Ann Shaw Robertson, Michael Alan Shaw (Lisa), and Elton Scott Shaw (Susan); 9 grandchildren, Morgan Shaw, Charlie Miller, Julie Powell (Jason), Annie Miller, Gladys Shaw, Liza Shaw, Robin Shaw, Michael Shaw, and Keziah Shaw; great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Emily, Magnolia, Aurora, Sebastian, Collette, and Ellowyn; extended family and friends.
A celebration of Julia's life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 1pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange with burial to follow in Franklinton Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 3-5pm and Monday from 11am-1pm at the funeral home.
