Larry Robert Griner

A skilled basketball player, Larry played for Eastern Kentucky University for five years, carrying aspirations of becoming a basketball coach. Basketball remained a lifelong passion, and he was an avid UK fan who also enjoyed cheering for the Dodgers and collecting baseball cards.

Larry proudly serviced in the United States Air Force from 1962–1966, where he was granted the Longevity Award and the National Defense Service Medal. He entered the Air Force in Louisville, before taking courses in Mississippi, being stationed in Japan, and being discharged from his last duty station in California.

Larry married the love of his life, Brenda Roberts, and together they happily navigated life side by side for 49 years.

Larry is survived by wife, Brenda; sister, Debi Moore; aunt, Leona Stolsworth; brother-in-law, Mark Roberts; and extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will follow at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY 40031 on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until the start of the service at the funeral home.
