Luis A Aguirre Sr.

Luis A. Aguirre Sr, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024, just one day shy of his 89th birthday, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on June 21, 1935, in Monterey, Mexico, to Franciso Xavier Aguirre and Antonia Aguirre.

Luis grew up in Monterey with his five siblings and parents. In his youth, he enjoyed movies and hiking. At the young age of 20, Luis moved to the U.S. and joined the Army. He had a deep love for this country. He owned several trucking companies throughout his life, and was a machinist, mechanic, and a truck driver for most of his working years. In his 30s he met and married the love of his life, Enedelia. They were married for 52 years. As a husband, he was devoted and loving, providing steadfast support and companionship. They shared a wonderful life together with their two sons and three grandchildren. As a father, he guided his children with wisdom and compassion, instilling in them the values of hard work and integrity. His strength and resilience were a source of inspiration to all who knew him.

He was the gentlest soul, down-to-earth, even-keeled guy you could ever meet. He loved chess, puzzles, reading the newspaper, playing games and reading news on his tablet, watching soccer especially the World Cup, drinking his morning coffee with cookies, and afternoon warmed-up milk. He loved to go outside and take walks. Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly, never uttering a word of complaint. His hardworking nature and unwavering commitment to his family were evident in everything he did.

He was a wonderful provider, wise father and devoted husband. He was filled with joy and so proud to be a Papa to his grandchildren, Aubrey, Matthew and Austin.

Luis embodied the virtues of the greatest generation. He was the epitome of strength, love, and dedication. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will forever be remembered and cherished by his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Luis is preceded in death by his siblings, Blanca Aguirre-Quiroga and Francisco Xavier Aguirre Jr.

Left to cherish the memory of Luis are his wife, Enedelia Aguirre, his children, Luis (Danielle) Aguirre and Carlos (Katie) Aguirre, grandchildren, Aubrey Lynn Aguirre, Matthew Theodor Aguirre, and Austin Luis Aguirre, and his sisters, Emma Aguirre-Santoy, Bertha Aguirre-Navarro, and Yolanda Aguirre-Vargas.

A visitation for Luis will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, Kentucky, followed by a memorial service with military honors at 5:00 PM.

Rest in peace, Papa. Your life was a testament to the greatest generation, and your legacy will continue to inspire us all. We love you!

Luis A. Aguirre Sr, falleció pacíficamente el 20 de junio de 2024, apenas un día antes de cumplir 89 años, en Louisville, Kentucky. Nació el 21 de junio de 1935 en Monterey, México, hijo de Franciso Xavier Aguirre y Antonia Aguirre.

Luis creció en Monterey con su hermano y cuatro hermanas y padres. En su juventud, disfrutaba del cine y del senderismo. A la temprana edad de 20 años, Luis se mudó a los Estados Unidos y se unió al ejército. Tenía un profundo amor por este país. Fue propietario de varias empresas de camiones a lo largo de su vida y fue maquinista, mecánico y camionero durante la mayor parte de sus años laborales. A los 30 conoció y se casó con el amor de su vida, Enedelia. Estuvieron casados durante 52 años. Como esposo, fue devoto y cariñoso, brindándole apoyo y compañía inquebrantables. Compartieron una vida maravillosa junto con sus dos hijos y tres nietos. Como padre, guió a sus hijos con sabiduría y compasión, inculcándoles los valores del trabajo duro y la integridad. Su fuerza y resistencia fueron una fuente de inspiración para todos los que lo conocieron.

Era el tipo más amable, con los pies en la tierra y más ecuánime que jamás hayas conocido. Le encantaba el ajedrez, los rompecabezas, leer el periódico, jugar y leer noticias en su tableta, ver fútbol, especialmente la Copa del Mundo, tomar el café de la mañana con galletas y la leche caliente de la tarde. Le encantaba salir y caminar. A lo largo de su vida trabajó incansablemente, sin pronunciar nunca una palabra de queja. Su naturaleza trabajadora y su compromiso inquebrantable con su familia eran evidentes en todo lo que hacía.

Fue un maravilloso proveedor, un padre sabio y un esposo devoto. Estaba lleno de alegría y muy orgulloso de ser papá de sus nietos, Aubrey, Matthew y Austin.

Luis encarnó las virtudes de la generación más grande. Era la personificación de la fuerza, el amor y la dedicación. Deja un legado de amor y fortaleza que su familia y amigos siempre recordarán y apreciarán. Su memoria vivirá en el corazón de quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

A Luis le precedieron en la muerte su hermana, Blanca Aguirre-Quiroga, y su hermano, Francisco Xavier Aguirre Jr.

Para apreciar la memoria de Luis quedan su esposa, Enedelia Aguirre, sus hijos, Luis (Danielle) Aguirre y Carlos (Katie) Aguirre, sus nietos, Aubrey Lynn Aguirre, Matthew Theodor Aguirre y Austin Luis Aguirre, y sus hermanas, Emma Aguirre. -Santoy, Bertha Aguirre Navarro y Yolanda Aguirre Vargas.

Se llevará a cabo un velorio para Luis el miércoles 26 de junio de 2024, de 3:00 p. m. a 5:00 p. m. en Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, Kentucky, seguido de un servicio conmemorativo con militares. Honores a las 5:00 p.m.
