She was born to the late William and Nina (Cooke) Thompson in Louisville, Kentucky on March 19, 1941.
Sue retired from Chevron after a 34-year career in Human Resources. She attended college at Georgetown College. Sue had a love of flowers, enjoyed needlework, arts and crafts, and was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, John Thompson and Dinah Kohnhorst.
Left to cherish the memory of Sue are her husband, John Taylor Shepherd; stepchildren, Shari Shepherd Jones (Mark) and Stephen Shepherd; siblings, Rance Thompson (Judy), Sarah Rittenberry, Kevin Thompson (Janet), Evelyn Morgan, and Roger Thompson (Marlene); sister-in-law, Margo Thompson; brother-in-law, Lanny Kohnhorst; 13 nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of Sue's life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 2pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange with visitation from 11am until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Crossroads, PO Box 696, LaGrange, KY 40031 in Sue’s memory.
Sue will be missed by those who loved and knew her, she embraced being a wife, stepmom, sister, and aunt!
