Let us remember Mikey not with tears, but with the sound of his laughter.
Michael “Mikey” Duane French, age 45, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and beloved fur babies.
Born in Louisville, KY on June 25th, 1979 to Duane French and Annette Maas, Mikey grew up with a natural curiosity and zest for life. He attended Oldham County High School (Class of 1997), where he was known for his infectious laugh and love of good company. Mikey cherished time spent with friends and family, often at car shows, potlucks, or simply gathered around sharing stories and laughter.
Michael was an incredibly hard worker who dedicated himself to every endeavor. After working at several local businesses in his younger years, including General Manager at Rally’s, he combined his passion for photography and entrepreneurial spirit to create his own business, Fotos by French. Through this venture, he captured countless cherished memories for his clients.
Mikey also had a heart for animals. He volunteered regularly at the Oldham County Humane Society, helping to care for animals in need. His dedication to helping others, both human and furry, was a testament to his kind and generous spirit.
When Mikey wasn’t working, he could be found cheering on the Louisville Cardinals with unmatched enthusiasm, or traveling to create new adventures. His quick wit, warm smile, and ability to make anyone laugh made him a joy to be around.
He is survived and never forgotten by his loving family: step-mother Rebecca French, brother Dennie (J) French Jr., step siblings Melissa (Adam) Benton and Justin (Kim) Clark; nieces and nephews Grace, Chayse, Channing, Chandler, Lucas, Lacey, Eli, and David; aunts and uncles: RoseMary (Oliver) Fleener, Denise (Richard) Ford, Kevin (Vivian) French, Mark (Cathy) French, Matt (Karla) French, and Lori Bentley (Lonnie); and the special women that Mikey referred to as his “wives”: Tanna Roberts, Misty Trotter, and Brandi Browning.
A celebration of life will be held for Michael on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, Lagrange, KY 40031, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
