You were such a good mentor to others in life. It was an honor to work with you and  to be friends with you.

I have lost touch with Nancy for many, many years but tonight for an unknown reason, I did a search on her name and was so saddened to see she had passed.  Even more, that she had passed on my birthday of October 19th.  Nancy was my first love, a lady I cared so much for.  We were high school sweethearts and I cannot even remember the reason we parted.  Today, while going thru old pictures that have not seen light for many years, I found one of Nancy from our high school years.  Then, I found a letter she wrote me when I was in the hospital in Louisville.  Perhaps that is why I did a search....I just felt a tug to get in touch again, if possible.   I was so very, very sad to see Nancy had left us.  I will forever miss her.

We just heard two days ago about Nancy going to be with her Lord. We are shocked! Nancy was such a special person to our family. She and I worked together in CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) in Northern Virginia. She was my Administrative Assistant and also traveled some with me in the Mid-Atlantic area for which we were responsible. After her dear friend and roommate died in the Big Thompson Flood of 1976, she came to live with our family for over a year. She loved our kids (Greg, Lori, Brad, and Meredith) and they loved her. Lori visited her in Kentucky just this past summer. She was loving, caring, and humorous. She knew I did not like black olives so one dinner she worked with the kids to plant some olives in my salad and then they squealed with delight when I found them!! She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh.

We are sad to know that she is gone as we did not keep in as close of touch the last number of years other than the annual Christmas greeting card/letter. But I know how much she loved the  Lord and she is rejoicing with Barbie and others who went before her.

Nancy, you were a special friend, colleague, and person. I will miss knowing you are there in Kentucky to call if I wanted to. You were a blessing in my life that will not be forgotten.

To her family:  my heart goes out to you all in losing Nancy.  She has been a dear friend since 1973 when we went through Campus Crusade staff training together.  We were roommates from 1977 to 1981 (give or take).  She always encouraged me; was a very comforting friend.  Though I had not seen her in years, we enjoyed staying in touch via phone for years. 

I knew she had gone through a lot recently; still am surprised she's gone...always hard to believe.

I feel like I kind of know you all...Jimmy and Nanette.  And Hilda, I met you when you visited in California.  What a wonderful family Nancy had.   My heart still goes out to you all in losing Julie a few years ago.

I thank the Lord for knowing Nancy King.

Nancy King touched my heart every time I came in contact with her.  I never wanted to lose touch with her after she left The Brook Hospital.  We kept in touch as often as we could.  Each encounter was special with Nancy.    She often spoke of Christ leading her life, and she will go where Christ leads her. I believe  Nancy is in Our Fathers loving arms and at peace.   I was very blessed to share this lovely Child of Christ in this world.

Dear family member....I would like to express my sincere sympathy to you in the passing of your sweet sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. Nancy was truly loved by her friends and the many members of her church and our community. She and I shared a special bond having worked in the nursing field in similar places and postitions. We enjoyed sharing ‘stories’ together when seeing each other while mailing letters at the post office in LaGrange. She always greated me with a smile and a twinkle in her eye! Prior to Nancy’s career in Nursing , for many years she was part of Campus Crusade for Christ International Ministey Team; from Kentucky to California; from Kentucky to Washington, D.C., and from Kentucky to Colorado. Her life touched many, many persons, and often those  in high places. 
Her faith carried her through out her life, regardless of life’s weather. A faithful friend with a big heart; but more importantly, her love for others was due to her love for Christ. 
Her impact upon lives will only be revealed in Eternity. Thank you Nancy for walking with so many of us on this journey called life.

I will always remember Nancy being in my class from grade schoo though high school.! She help me and Mike when we lost Sherry our daughter in tragic accident. Such a loving and caring person. Will miss you Nancy. Sonya Purvis

I had the pleasure of work working with Nancy. She had such a warm heart. She could talk to anyone and make them feel comfortable. She oftentimes would talk about “the triplets” who she loved dearly and also her sweet cats that brought her so much joy. You will be missed, Nancy. I am thankful I was fortunate enough to be a part of your life. Rest easy.

 Nancy was such a kind soul, always taking care of others. My mother loved her dearly, and Nancy was there for her so many times.  She shared fun times and many laughs with all her friends.   She will be greatly missed. Prayers for her family. 

Nancy and I have been friends since grade school in LaGrange.  Precious memories of our band days together and high school days and junior prom!!  She was such a loving Christian friend and always had a smile .  Blessed assurance I know she is with Jesus!  Carol Ann
