Ruth Doris Powell

She was born to the late Harold R. Sr and Bessie Brown Mings in LaGrange on February 15, 1930.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Walter Earl and her brother Harold R. Mings Jr.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of LaGrange and a member of DeHaven Memorial Baptist Church. She had previously worked for South Central Bell as a telephone operator.

Left to cherish the memory of Ruth are her daughters; Brenda Ward (Timothy), Karen Price (Virgil) and Melinda Thompson, 5 grandchildren; Ashlee Alstott (Jeff), Dylan Ward, Jordan Price (Rosie), Jessica Sookal (Darren) and Logan Price, 5 great-grandchildren; Amelia and Grayson Price, Arianna and Darren Jr. Sookal and Eloise Alstott., extended family and friends.

A private funeral service will be conducted with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Hosparus and to the nurses who cared for her at Baptist Hospital LaGrange.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Kentucky Sheriffs Boys and Girls Club.
