

Violet “Scottye” Walton Hall, 83, of LaGrange, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023. She was born to the late Thurman and Sarah Elizabeth Oglesby Walton on July 12, 1940, in Madison, Kentucky. Scottye was a fantastic creative homemaker who loved beautiful flowers, gardening, and whipping up an amazing meal. She retired from the Board of Education where she worked in the lunchroom and was lovingly known as Miss Scottye to the children she served. Scottye often brought fresh vegetables from her garden to the elementary school and created the most delicious lunch food. The school became known as the best lunchroom in the state of Kentucky. Scottye wore orange lipstick every day and sang happy songs. She loved making lunch for the children in the LaGrange Acres neighborhood and through the years her door was open for friends who needed a good meal, a glass of tea, and a pillow and a blanket. Scottye made everyone feel safe and loved. She had a big heart and loved Jesus. Scottye loved her husband, her children and her family, especially the apple of her eye, her grandson, Landon Scott Hall. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Lee Hall; son Raymond Scott Hall; brother Thurman Walton Jr; sisters Iva Dean Brown and Brenda Abney. Left to cherish the memory of Scottye are her Daughter Carla Hall D’Ambra (Frank), Daughter-In-Law Cindy Hall Liter; Grandchildren Landon Scott Hall, Brittany Davis, Kewan Beebe (Pearl), Lauren D’Ambra Meskell (Bryan), Rachel D’Ambra Bernhardt (Robert); great grandchildren Colton Davis, Kimbree Davis, Caylee Capri Beebe; sister Carol Louden; Loving caregivers and friends Karen Chadwell, Destiny McCauley, and many extended family and beloved friends.
