He was born on October 10, 1929 to the late William and Freda Hoover in Terra Alta, West Virginia.
William graduated from Oakland, MD High School in 1946 and from the University of West Virginia in 1950 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he worked for General Electric for 40 years with assignements in Pittsfield, MA, Philadelphia, PA, Cleveland, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Louisville, KY and Cincinnati, OH. He retired to farm in Trimble County KY in 1990.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Merle Hoover, twin sister; Betty L. Elrick, sister; June Stroup, and daughter; Sandra Lee Floore.
Left to cherish the memory of William are his wife of 65 years (June 2, 1951); Marcelle Hoover, children; Cynthia Kirkland (Mike), Darrel Hoover, Jacqueline Potts (Gary), and Cheryl Parker (Ray), 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Hoover will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home on Saturday, August 13th at 11am with visitation on Friday evening from 4-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Castle Cemetery.
