Born March 22nd 1953 in Totnes, UK
Alasdhair passed away after a brief illness on November 3rd at 20:48. He is survived by his wife Becky Campbell, his daughter Fiona Thomas and her husband Temple, his son Alex Campbell, his sister Shelagh, his half-sisters, his stepson Aaron Allcorn and wife Jennifer, granddaughter Betty and numerous nieces and nephews.
He grew up exploring the moors of Devon and his childhood education at Dartington gave him a love for life off the beaten path and a willingness to experience anything; after Dartington he went on to obtain a Master's in Particle Physics from the University of London Birkbeck.
Alasdhair was a pioneer in multiple facets of the tech industry. Having worked for MCI, Ineto, Motive, Alcatel-Lucent, Bell Labs, and Nokia, he was thought of by many as a true innovator. Alasdhair's love for his work and world culture took him to many parts of the world, often accompanied by his family. One of his favorite things about returning home to Texas, though, was going out on back roads with Becky in their Jeep to enjoy the wildlife.
We are sure that many celebrations all over the world have been held or are planned – the family will hold no formal memorial, however; will continue to cherish him in their hearts and ask that in his honor to please make a donation to the school he loved so much, Dartington Hall School.
