After 27 years of devoted marriage to her late husband, Dr. Jack Walker, in Kemah, Texas, Barbara recently relocated to the hill country where she spent her last year close to family. She was an avid fan of sports, especially the Houston Astros. Witnessing their first World Series Championship brought her great joy. After retiring and devoting most of her time to assisting her husband in his dental practice, she spent most of her time with her pets, reading daily devotionals, attending Bible studies and keeping up with current events.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Modena Baskins, and her late husband, Dr. Jack Walker. She is survived by son Robert Klappenbach and wife Johnda; son Michael Klappenbach and wife Crystal; stepdaughter Betsy Long and husband John; stepson Mike Walker and wife Tracy; stepdaughter Melinda Atnip and husband Barry; sisters, Linda Gard and husband Tom and Della Whitlock. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great children, all of whom she loved dearly.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Tuesday, November 21, 2017 with a visitation from 10:00 am. to 12:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Following visitation will be a service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. An interment will follow the ceremony at Forest Oaks Memorial Park in Austin, Texas.
