

Glenn—a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, accomplished professional, and
cherished friend. Glenn passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, surrounded by his
family, leaving a profound legacy of love, wisdom, and inspiration.
Born to Charles Ray Harrison and Katherine Francis Harrison in Houston, Texas, in 1948,
Glenn’s life was a testament to curiosity, perseverance, and humor. Growing up in Roswell, New
Mexico, Glenn discovered his love for baseball and was awarded All-State First Baseman.
Those years remained a cherished chapter in his life, filled with camaraderie and joy that he
often reminisced about with great fondness.
From his early days as a roughneck in Alaska’s oil fields, Glenn put himself through two
degrees, becoming a proud graduate of the University of Alaska at Anchorage and the
University of Texas at Austin, where he laid the groundwork for a distinguished career as a
petroleum engineer.
Glenn’s professional journey spanned over four decades. As the founder and president of Glenn
Harrison Petroleum Consultants, he spearheaded the evaluation of oil and gas properties worth
billions of dollars, helping to shape the energy industry. Additionally, Glenn was honored to
serve as President of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers. Earlier in his career, he
served as Director of the State of Alaska’s Division of Minerals and Energy Management, where
he oversaw subsurface resources and led a multidisciplinary team in unlocking Alaska’s natural
wealth.
Glenn embraced life with a spirit of adventure and intellectual pursuit. He embarked on thrilling
safaris in Africa, marveling at the wild beauty of the world. A voracious reader, he devoured
thousands of books, often finishing one in a single day. Glenn’s legendary sense of humor and
quick wit brought joy to family and friends, even during life’s most challenging times.
Family was the heart of Glenn’s world, and at its center was his beloved wife of 47 years, Jill
Renee Harrison—the unwavering light of his life. Her steadfast love was his greatest comfort
and his anchor.
He also leaves behind his brother, John Harrison and his wife, Ellen; his children, Tiffany
Harrison Heffernan and Trevor Jack Harrison; his close friend and son-in-law, Michael
Heffernan; and his cherished grandchildren, Taylor Skye Heffernan, Mackenzie Starr Heffernan,
Cash Harrison Ward, Liza Harrison, and Winston Jack Harrison-who brought him endless joy.
His faithful Maltese dogs, Bebe and Chichi, were his constant companions and a source of
endless happiness.
Glenn will be remembered for his boundless intellect, adventurous spirit, and unwavering
devotion to his loved ones. He taught us to embrace curiosity, savor life’s extraordinary
moments, and find joy in humor.
A celebration of Glenn’s extraordinary life will be held for family and close friends. He loved
deeply and was deeply loved in return—a bond beyond words.
