Dad, I did it. I’m 21 now, about to graduate college, and go to grad school. Ever since I was little, you tried to teach me French; now I am proud to tell you I am fluent in French and reached my goal to spend time in France because of you. I chose to keep your last name to memorialize how far I have come. I wish you could see me for who I am, and what I stand for. I took after my mom in that regard, a woman who stood up for what she believed in, and I’d like to think you want that for me. I love you Dad, I miss you more than anything and I pray you are with your family listening to bus stop gossip. 


I worked with Charlie and stayed in touch with him for years.. I am in shock as I just heard about his passing.  Keeping his family in mind..

I'm deeply saddened.  Charlie and I met in 2009.  That day remains engraved in my memory, mind, and heart.  He was a man who loved a cappuccino at sunrise and a beer at sunset.  He loved working hard, running, going to the gym, after work walks, cooking, taking care of his pets, of his plants - especially his mother's, music, playing guitar on his deck, taking pictures, listening to birds, blooming trees in spring, looking at the moon, looking at the sea, being in water and underwater, being at the beachâ€¦  He loved the sun, and rain too.  He also loved fests, and celebrations: Easter egg hunt, 4th of July fireworks, Halloween pumpkins carving, Thanksgiving smoked turkey, Christmas lightsâ€¦, because above all, he loved his kids.  My thoughts turn to them.  
We shared lot of laughs, some secrets, and few tears together.  I will always remember the moment he told me his last wish was to rest "home" close to his mother and sister he missed.  Each Christmas, somehow, they were with him when he decorated the tree.  This year he will be with them.  Hopefully he is in New Orleans today.  December 9, as December 23, and December 14 are special days for him.  
The huge hole he leaves behind is filled with the love he gave.

To his son Charles...I was saddened to hear of your Dad's passing. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray for your comfort and healing in this difficult time. 



I send deep love to Charlie, his family and loved ones. My heart is filled with sadness for his passing. He was an amazing man in many ways. He was sweet, kind, generous, funny, loving, artistic, and had a graceful, warm way of connecting hearts with everyone around him. 
I always admired the connection that Charlie had with his kids. The love between them is so strong. He truly was an amazing Father. 
I will never forget the time that Charlie brought Chad and I to Switzerland. It was an amazing trip and I loved experiencing this beautiful country with the two of them. One evening we were heading back to the hotel and wanted to stop for dinner. We were driving through smaller towns in the dark so it was not an easy task to find a place to eat. I had the spark to drive up a hill to see what was at the top. Charlie loved the idea of an adventure so we drove up a dark, eerie hill to check it out. We finally reached the top and saw a cabin with lights on. Continuing our exploration we decided to check it out. We walked into the cabin and everyone got quiet and turned to look at us as if we were from another planet. A waitress came to greet us (in Swiss-German, which none of us spoke), and we fumbled trying to understand each other as she seated us. The aroma in the cabin reassured us that we had found the right place. We did feel a little awkward being the only Americans in the restaurant, reading a menu that was written in Swiss-German. We proceeded to follow our intuition and enjoy the fun of this mysterious dinner manifestation. 
Somehow we ordered the most delicious food that was perfect for each of us. To top it off we had a decadent dessert split 3 ways and the whole time we couldnâ€™t help but laugh and celebrate this incredible evening. It was a night I will never forget and this memory with Charlie lives joyfully in my heart. 
May Charlie know how deeply loved and missed he is and may his spirit live on in our hearts.

Charlie was a good man who always put his kids and family above all else. He will be sorely missed. 



I am shocked and deeply saddened.  We met at the American Hospital of Paris.  He had chemo rounds there.  A couple times we went have a glass of wine together.  He talked to me about his kids: his daily help for Chad's homework after his workday, his weekly Skype meetings with Ellen and Mark - he really missed them, his diamond found on a beach the year before and found again - it always put what he called a stupid smile on his face.  He said France had given him a double double chance, one for life, and one for love.  The last time I saw him I wished him a long and safe life, for once he didn't answer me he will do his best, he just answered me he will, that he was cured, going back to Austin where Ellen and Mark were, with his personal guardian angel.  I said I was happy for them.  He hugged me saying everyone was happy.  He had also reconnected with God in France.  I know he went to church a couple times with her, so, Prayers for the New Orleanian. 



I feel sad, deeply sad.  His French Friend had led him to full remission.  Charlie loved her more than words can say.  A nice person, with a weird name, so cute.  They were cute.  Charlie was a dynamic person, talkative, always smiling, and his good mood was communicative.  Prayers for my missing gym friend.  



I consider myself blessed to have known Charles.  Although we only met 3 years ago, I feel like we had always been good friends.  Charlesâ€™ positive attitude and warm spirit was infectious.  Even though he was going through difficult chemo treatments himself, he took time out to help those around him who he always considered were worse off than he.  God speed my friend!  Until we meet againâ€¦



I worked with Charlie off and on with the Precise products. He had such a positive, "can-do" attitude. I never even knew he was fighting cancer. He struck me as someone eager to drive the business and he also had a candid approach which I found easy to work with. On my trips to the Austin office we would chat for a bit and he would tell me some running trails I should try in the area as we had that in common. My deepest sympathies go out to his family at this time of loss. He was a good soul who will be missed. 



I have been very fortunate to not only work for Charlie but to have him as a friend. He always strived to get the best out of me. While doing so, he was so charismatic and genuine, you couldnâ€™t help but look up to him. His sarcasm matched his humility and you couldnâ€™t speak to him without having a good laugh and him growing closer to you. Even when he had pain later in his disease, he with his compassion and big heart, he was looking out for others to ensure they were taken care of. He always talked about the love of his life, Thuy and how he couldnâ€™t handle this disease without her love and supportâ€¦Thuy, he never stopped saying that you were the love of his life and how appreciative he was of you. I am a better worker for having worked for Charlie but an even better person for have knowing him. Charlie, you will be missed but never forgotten. 



I will always be thankful and remember how kind and supportive Charles was of the people he didn't know, but was willing to show up for Thuy.  The world just lost a great man!



Charlie could write; he had a great ear for a catchy turn of phrase.  I attributed it to his growing up around New Orleans.  I asked him on occasion to proofread my work.  He delighted in an email blast that resulted in a bigger than usual webinar audience.  I reuse his â€œget back to business quicklyâ€ and â€œthe one performance solution that everyone can agree onâ€.  Early after the acquisition of Precise, Charlie convened a meeting in California.  I am glad that I went.  I got a chance to meet Charlie.  He is a big reason why I stuck with the company.  Charlie shared stories with the team about his children, his girlfriend, and traveling adventures.  We visited Thomas Fogarty winery in Woodside, CA.  This is the perfect place to discuss technology in a scenic environment while sipping port.



I met Charlie and Thuy my third day on the job at a company party. He was so welcoming, likable and knowledgeable that I made him my go- to resource almost daily after that. A brief exchange with him was an energizer and set the table for a good day. I soon realized that he always came through for me- he met all my requests, from reviewing documents, sharing ideas or participating in meetings and events, making the drive from Austin to Houston several times. I told him how much I appreciated that. A few days later he told me he was sick. I was speechless- he was 100% committed and future driven. He actually came to the company party where we first met straight from chemo. Thatâ€™s what kind of person he was- he showed up for people and participated and worked hard and laughed. 
Iâ€™m envious of those of you who had a longer time with Charlie. He had such great stories about his travels, deep appreciation for good food and wine and friends, and was so very charming and interesting. Iâ€™m selfishly sad that I never got to take him up on the offer to come over and help make dinner with Thuy and let the friendship unfold. 
As I said to my co-workers, the world needs more people of Charlieâ€™s caliber. It is a devastating loss. Iâ€™m so sorry. 



I am deeply sadden by Charlie's passing. I met Charlie a few months ago through work and we struck a pleasant friendship, almost instantaneously. I was not aware of his illness and could never tell by his demeanor and that says a lot about him. My thoughts are with his family in this difficult time. I am sure there are plenty of good memories and I hope these memories helps during this time of sorrow.

My dad was always peppy. He was selfless, and when we played Mario Kart, he would always come in last, and never get mad. My dad loved being on the water, I can still remember him laughing and taking us tubing. He always thought about us (Mark and Chad) before doing anything. He loved Thuy incredibly and I hope she knows thst. It always ceased to amaze me how happy he was. He was my best friend, and I miss him so dearly. I know him and his parents and sister will have a lot to catch up on. If I could tell him anything, I would say I love you so much. I miss you Dad, my world will never be the same without you.

Charlie woke up every day and found a new reason to be happy.  I worked with Charlie on and off over 15 years and he never had a bad day.  In his last role, I asked him to step into something that was really hard and would have frustrated everybody except Charlie.  He knew it would be a hard job.  He thought about it for a day and then came back and said, "Well, this is going to be really hard, but I'll prove that I can do it and then you'll have to promote me."  Good old Charlie saw the silver lining in everything.  Charlie set the standard for people in a difficult circumstance.  When I broke the news of his passing to the company, a lot of people didn't even know he was sick.  He was healthy and positive every day throughout his sickness.  We should all aspire to his positive attitude every day.  It will be a great legacy of his life.



We loved getting to know Charlie, Thuy and Chad. Charlie was a truly special person. He lived and loved with vigor and great passion. We shared a lot of laughs with Charlie and Thuy. We saw Charlie's pride and happiness as Chad graduated from high school and moved to college. A great Father and a great Son and an amazing duo! The love of his life was Thuy and we mourn with Thuy on her profound loss. Charlie was devoted to Thuy and his adoration and love for her was striking. We are better from having known him and sad for his early exit from our lives. God Speed Charlie.



Charlie was a special person who came into our lives because of the lovely relationship with Thuy. His smile and happy  personality made our outing with them so much fun. The last event was our couples sunset cruise and now we will hold that precious memory forever.  Beverly and Doug

Charlie was a wonderful and vibrant man.  I was lucky to work with him and enjoy the company of Thuy and Charlie.  My heart goes out to Thuy, Chad, Ellen and Mark.  It is hard to believe that a man so full of energy and life is gone.
