

Clive was born on April 28, 1937, in Preston, Lancashire, England. His early years consisted of a boarding school education where he studied mathematics and physics. Clive excelled in rugby and made lifelong friends that are close to this day. He graduated from East Lancashire University with a master's degree in Applied Physics and was a member of the Institute of Physics in London, UK. His diverse career in manufacturing included working for companies such as British Cellophane and Hotpoint and upon moving to the USA in 1968 entered into the semiconductor industry with positions at Fairchild and Honeywell.
After moving to Texas in 1981, Clive built and ran the AMD manufacturing facility in San Antonio. He was the President of Cypress Semiconductor (Texas) in Round Rock, and most recently the VP-Operations for Skyonic in Austin. Clive spent the majority of his career in the semiconductor industry pioneering new technologies, was highly respected by his peers and was well loved in the community. Clive was a compassionate, unselfish man, and always put his family and friends above himself. He will be greatly missed.
Clive is survived by Cynthia, his beloved wife of 54 years, and his three children, Christopher (Deb), Catherine (Larry) and Lisa (Wayne), and his 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Erika, Andrew, Ian and Benjamin.
The family wishes to thank Lakeway Regional Medical Center for their excellent medical care but most of all the love and compassion shown to Clive, especially by Dr. R. Van Boven, Dr. P. Polkampally, Dr. R.V. Babu and the nursing staff in the ICU.
Clive was given the same loving care for 17 months by Dr. C. Kampe, Dr. R. Tierney and the excellent nurses and staff of Texas Oncology. We can't thank you all enough.

Memorial services will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's on the Lake Episcopal Church, 5600 Ranch Road 620 N, Austin, TX 78732. A reception to follow.
