

Born in 1956 near Beaumont, Texas, Gordon was preceded in death by his dear mother, Shirley Jeanne Riley Pate. After a wonderful childhood of making lifelong friendships in Beaumont, Gordon graduated from Beaumont High School in 1974. He then graduated from the University of Texas in 1979 majoring in Archaeology. Gordon became a real estate broker, was a registered Landman, and acquired a brilliant expertise in right of way acquisition and title abstracting. He was passionate about his job and was truly valued by his coworkers and friends at LAN.
A true outdoorsman, Gordon enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising Longhorn cattle, dogs, Crystal Beach, fossil hunting, UT football and baseball, Rum, and had the ability to fix anything. Most of all, he was devoted to his family and imparted untold wisdom, guidance, and love with a constantly positive attitude.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Diana Cloninger Pate; children, Eric Sheppard Pate, Hannah Pate Sanchez, Joshua Evan Pate; son-in-law, Ryan Sanchez; father, Gordon Ralph Pate, Sr.; siblings, Stephen Pate, Kathleen Pate Williford; and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration Of Gordon’s Life will be held January 18, 2025, 2-4 pm, at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway, Texas. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
