Jacqueline Kay Miller, née Moore, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, after a courageous nine-year battle with lung cancer. She was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, William Lowry Miller; her cherished youngest son, Scott Allen Miller; and her three brothers, Harry Moore, Joseph Moore, and James Moore.
Jacqueline is survived by her loving sons: Steven Scott Miller of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Todd Noel Miller of Houston, Texas; and William John Miller of Austin, Texas, along with her daughters-in-law, grandchildren, extended family, and many lifelong friends.
To say Jacque was unique would be an understatement. She lived life loudly, honestly, and entirely on her own terms. She will be remembered for her spirited personality, her unfiltered observations, and her unmatched ability to “stir the pot” among family and golfing friends alike. Whether at the golf course, shopping, antiquing, or basking in the sun, Jacque brought energy and personality everywhere she went.
Above all else, Jacque loved her family deeply. While she was not always one for hugs or sentimental words, she showed her love generously through thoughtful gifts and acts of care. Her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren knew that beneath her tough exterior was a fiercely devoted mother and grandmother who loved them immensely.
Jacque was an avid golfer, a talented collector of antiques, a devoted shopper, and an obsessive guardian of spotless floors. Family, friends, visitors, and even pastors quickly learned that shoes belonged in the garage before entering her home — no exceptions.
Her life was marked by both resilience and hardship. As a child, she moved constantly with her family as “construction gypsies,” rarely staying in one place for long. At just 15 years old, she lost her father in a tragic construction accident, a loss that shaped much of her life thereafter. She also endured the heartbreak of two full-term miscarriages, the devastating loss of her youngest son, and the passing of her husband only six months after his retirement.
Those hardships built emotional walls around Jacque at times, but those who truly knew her always saw beyond them. Family and friends recognized her strength, loyalty, humor, determination, and deep capacity for love — even when it was expressed in unconventional ways.
Now free from pain and reunited with her husband, son, and family who passed before her, Jacque is finally at peace. She leaves behind countless memories, stories, laughter, and a tremendous void in the hearts of those who loved her.
Jacque will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and lovingly carried in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at The Hills Country Club, Flintrock Falls Clubhouse, 401 Jack Nicklaus Dr, Austin, Texas 78738, on May 30, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
