Kenneth "Joe" Sawin

Joe was a loving son and devoted brother. He is survived by his mother Carol Williams Sawin of Lakeway, Texas, his sister Kodi Elizabeth Sawin and brother Clint Williams Sawin, both of Austin, Texas, uncle Rudy Contreras, and cousin, Jason Contreras. Also survived by Bruce Williams and Susan Pate; Lauren and Russell Pate; Dean and Cathy Sawin; Brice and Josh Sawin; Scott and Sandi Williams; Lindsay Burckhalter and Ashley Mathys.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, on November 5, 1966, the oldest son of Kenneth Lee Sawin and Carol Williams Sawin. Joe graduated from Canyon High School in Canyon, Texas—Class of 1985. He graduated with Honors and Special Honors in Plan II from the University of Texas in 1989. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1992 serving as an Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review.

He was known as a civic minded attorney, spirited entrepreneur, and film and multimedia producer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Lee Sawin; maternal grandparents Marvin and Lila Williams; paternal grandparents, Lee Kenneth and Mary Sawin; and his Aunt Chery Contreras.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, 411 RR 620 South in Lakeway.
