Larry Gene Taylor

Larry was raised in Palacios, TX and graduated from Palacios High School. Throughout his life he served his country in the US Army, became an entrepreneur in 1969 as owner and operator of TEPCO of Central Texas, and loved playing golf with family and friends. His most cherished time was spent with his daughter and grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted "Poppy".

Larry was always so positive and unselfish, and had an unconditional love for family and friends that matched no other. He had a gift of lighting up every room he entered making anyone around him feel comfortable, special, and totally entertained. Family and friends find it hard to think of a time when he did not have a smile on his face.

Larry was an amazing man with a kind, gentle, optimistic spirit who fought his illness with honor and bravery. He touched so many hearts creating memories of love and laughter that will continue to live in each of us.

Larry has now joined many loved ones where he is at peace and free of pain. He is everywhere, where he has always been: In our hearts. In our laughs. In our smiles.

He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Lee and husband Christopher Lee and grandchildren Sophia and Samuel; Brother Gerald Taylor and children Peni Green, Jennifer Taylor, and William Paul Taylor; Brother Paul Taylor and children Ryan Taylor and Erin Maggi; Sister Laura Scott and son, Joshua Josovitz Farley, and husband JP Scott and step son Jack Scott; loving ex-wife Anne Taylor; many cousins who were more like siblings to him; and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and other cherished family.

A viewing will be held Friday, June 21st in the Smith Chapel at Riverbend Church in Austin, TX at 10:00am followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers it is the family's wish memorial donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gerald Taylor, Paul Taylor, Terry Oglesby, Bill Glaros, Michael Glaros, Jim Petersen, Brent Petersen, William Paul Taylor, Tracy Perkins, Dax Oglesby, Trent Oglesby, Ryan Taylor, Joshua Josovitz Farley, Patrick Glaros, Christopher Lee, and JP Scott.
