Leslie was a graduate of Texas A&M University and Georgetown University Law Center. She spent more than twenty years serving as a government analyst in Virginia.
A woman of deep faith and a devoted follower of Jesus, Leslie was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Herndon, VA; she also attended Austin Ridge Bible Church in Austin, TX, and Scottsdale Bible Church in Arizona. She supported numerous faith and charity organizations such as the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, Heifer International, Compassion International, Mercy Ships, and Walking the Bible Lands.
Leslie’s neighbors and her cherished “Panera Posse” lovingly supported her with hands-on care and transportation to her cancer treatments. She loved animals, was a gifted equestrian, and remained a loyal friend to many across the country.
Leslie is survived by her siblings—William Arnold Lipps, Cheryl Lipps Penn, Eugene Henry Lipps, James Charles Lipps, and Jonathan David Lipps as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her beloved uncle, Delbert Arnold Lipps, and aunt, Margaret Marie (Crutchfield) Lipps.
Leslie longed to reconnect with her family, and in her final year, she was able to do just that, fulfilling a lifelong dream of hers. Leslie was deeply grateful for the exceptional care of her medical teams, including Dr. Jay Maran at the VA Medical Center, Envita Medical Center in Scottsdale, AZ, and Dr. James Uyeki at Texas Oncology in Austin.
Among her most treasured memories were her travels with her dear friend Andi Saccoccio, including a special trip to South Africa. Leslie also found immense joy in visiting Israel, and later Greece, Turkey, and Italy with the Wayne Stiles tour group—retracing Paul’s third missionary journey.
Despite courageously fighting stage-four cancer for more than thirteen years, Leslie lived with remarkable gratitude and strength, exemplified in her generosity and kindness. Her gentle spirit, her hope in Christ, and her constant thankfulness were evident to all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held in Herndon, VA; date and time to be announced.
The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology held a special place in Leslie’s heart, offering her meaningful healing and hope. In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial donations to be made in her honor.
