Lorena Tirado was born in California to Mariano Tirado and Donna Lee Davis in December of 1969. She lived the first part of her life in Venezuela before moving back to California at the age of 13 where she lived until her early 30s. She then moved to Oklahoma and then Illinois for work. For the last 16 years, she made her home in Texas, to settle near her adopted family John and Sharmae Erickson.
Lorena was a hard worker as an executive assistant to many C-Suite executives. She mostly worked in the field of engineering. Her young life was difficult after moving back to California where she cared for her disabled mother until the age of 18. The responsibility of this task gave her a knack for organizing and planning that kept not only her executives in line, but also her friends and family. Lorena enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and she loved a good adventure. She was a wonderful auntie to her nieces Sofia, Sasha and Anastasia and loved spending time with them and purchasing items for their special Christmas trees she got them for their rooms. She was bonus and honorary aunt to Andy and Mandy and their children since Andy’s birth (she was in the room when he was born 😊). Lorena also enjoyed traveling and was able to do quite a bit before she became too ill to do so. Most important to know is that Lorena LOVED the Lord. When not spending time with family and friends; her time was spent in church, with church friends, and in her last years as part of Charis Bible College where she was well into her studies. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and give of her time. Lorena never married or had children but had a life rich with family, church family, and friends. We will miss her dearly, but know she is with the Lord.
"She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts."
She is preceded in death by all of her grandparents, her great-grandma Helen and her father and mother.
She is survived by her sisters Mariana Flener, Edimar Radomsky, and Sharmae Erickson (Sister in Christ), their husbands Kevin Flener, Jason Radomsky, and John Erickson, and their children Sofia and Sasha Flener, Anastasia Radomsky, Andy, Mandy, Summer, and Robbie Erickson. She is also survived by longtime friend Julie Martinez, longtime friends Steve and Petra Meliet, her stepmother Eddy Garcia de Tirado, “Ma” Blasina Williams, “Mom and Dad” Tom and Ellie Howell, and the “Cali Sisters”: Tina Starks, Natasha Syrko and Wendy Wickner.
Lorena passed after a long battle with Ovarian Cancer. A battle in which God used her to show faith, courage, and trust to all of those around her. Lorena's firm belief in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior gave her comfort and, ultimately peace.
God looked around his garden
And found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So, he closed your weary eyelids
And said, "Peace be thine".
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
Rest in peace, Lorena!
