June 6, 1958 – May 14, 2014
Margo (Ross) Priestley passed away suddenly on May 14, 2014 at her home in Austin, Texas. She was 55 years old. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Margo was raised in San Francisco and met her husband, Tommy, while they were both working in Mexico. They married in 1984, moved to Houston, Texas and then settled in Lake Forest, California. Margo lost the love of her life in 1998 and she never re-married. She moved to Austin in 2011 and lived near her son, his wife and her two grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Margo rescued, loved and cared for countless animals and birds allowing them to have a second chance at a loving home. She was a very loving, caring, sharing and compassionate person who believed in helping others and would always try to put a smile on people's faces with kind words or with her beautiful smile. She had a thirst for reading (as a young girl, she would read Perry Mason tales under the bedcovers by flashlight) and her favorites included a good mystery, love story, psychological thriller or vampire tale. She had a great sense of humor and loved to share laughter and giggles with family and friends. She was very artistic, had a wonderful eye for decorating, loved to "find the find" at garage and estate sales and could turn the mundane into the spectacular. One of her greatest joys was being Grandma M to her two grandsons and in the last few years had started to write imaginative short stories for them. She loved with every fiber of her soul and she truly brought light into our lives. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Margo was preceded in death by her husband and one true love Guy (Tommy) Thomas Priestley III and her parents Shirley (Seidkin) Ross and Herman Ross. She leaves behind her younger sister and best friend Joanne (Ross) Cochrane, son Bobby (Robert Riddle) Priestley, his wife Jennifer, treasured grandsons Logan and Luke, many loving cousins including Pat (Allbert) Bryan, Sheila Ross, Cheri (Allbert) Hardin, Scott and Christian Allbert, Michael Kennedy and many family and friends.
Margo, your spirit and your love will live in our hearts forever. We miss you and will always love you, and we know you are saying: "I love you more!"
Margo's ashes will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Priestley-Scholz Family Cemetery in Richards, Texas during a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday June 21, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations to your favorite charity be made in Margo's honor.
