Nick was born January 17, 1961 in Bloemfontein, South Africa, son of the Athanasios and Aphrodite Spiropoulos of Greece. He is survived by his beloved wife Christiana, daughter Georgia and son Athanasios and fiancé Danielle . He is also survived by his two sisters, four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Nick was a devout Greek Orthodox Christian who was strengthened by his faith during his courageous battle with ALS.
After his education, military service and a successful business career in South Africa, Nick and Chrissie and their lovely children immigrated to the States to become proud citizens and Texans.
He was an avid and talented golfer and a gifted athlete. He was admired and loved by all as a philanthropist, teacher, mentor and a most loyal friend.
Nick was most proud of his family and leaves a legacy of humble leadership in the life of his beloved Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church.
Visitation is 6pm Tuesday, October 30, followed by Trisagion Prayer service at 7pm, at Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 414 St Stephens School Rd, Austin, TX 78746. Funeral service, 10am, Wednesday, October 31st at Transfiguration, Interment at Holy Archangels Monastery in Kendalia, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Nick's memory be made to Transfiguration.
