Nolan was born in Southampton, New York on May 8, 2001. He is survived by his father - Michael McKee, mother - Kerry (Espanet) McKee, step mother - Jennifer Deming , sister - Louisa McKee, and brother - Adrian McKee. Also surviving are Nolan’s maternal grandparents, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins from both sides of his family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gary and Celia McKee.
Nolan was an incredibly special, beautiful person who touched everyone who knew him deeply. He was very thoughtful of others and had a caring, sweet, gentle and yet sparkling personality. Everyone who knew him said he encouraged them, lifted them up, and made them a better person. He was also a teacher to everyone around him and loved sharing the things he was passionate about, whether it was his encyclopedic knowledge of many types of music like vintage Japanese jazz, places that interested him around the world like Nepal, the ocean and marine life, and countless other things. His sense of humor and goofy jokes with friends and family would make even the most mundane situations into a fun time. He was working very hard full time and going to college part time and was excited about everything he had ahead of him. He was a very strong ocean swimmer and a talented surfer and planned to become a marine biologist. One of his proudest accomplishments was becoming an ocean lifeguard in the summer on Long Island, and he taught surfing to children there too.
Nolan was filled with a passion for life and was as free a spirit as they come. He had a love for adventure, nature, the ocean and was incredibly intelligent. He even built his own computer leaving his family forever impressed.
From a young age, Nolan had an innate calling to be near the water. Nolan was swimming by his first birthday and his greatest love was surfing, which he did on all three coasts. Aside from catching waves, he enjoyed playing his guitar and ukulele, Japanese culture (especially anime and Japanese candy), traveling, gaming,skateboarding, hanging with friends and, most recently, fixing up his 1988 Mazda RX-7 convertible. Nolan was a kind, loving, unique and charismatic individual who was always able to strike up a conversation and put a smile on anyone’s face. Looking back, it’s evident that Nolan was wise beyond his years– giving little importance to the material things in life but rather focusing on truly living his life to the fullest. Nolan will be forever remembered by his family and friends.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his brief, but beautiful, life Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 1 p.m.. The celebration will be held at the Weed Corley Fish Lake Funeral Home, located at 411 Ranch Rd 620 S, Lakeway, TX 78734.
