

December 25, 1934 – March 3, 2016
Ken Riley passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2016 at the age of 81 in Lakeway, Texas after a long battle with complications due to a stroke. Ken was a loving husband, amazing father, and loyal companion to all those who were blessed enough to call him a friend. His vibrant personality, outrageous sense of humor, and easygoing way will be sorely missed by family and friends. All take solace in the fact that he is now resting peacefully in the arms of God.
Ken is preceded in death by his father Frank Riley and mother Gladys Riley of Wichita Falls, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Glenda Riley, daughter Cindi Riley, daughter Susie Riley, son Paul Riley Jr. and his wife Lori Riley all of Lakeway, Texas. Ken is also survived by his much adored grandchildren, Zoe Gotcher, 13, and Zack Riley, 11.
Ken's career included over twenty years of service to his country in the U.S. Army where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He served two tours in Vietnam and received numerous honors including the Bronze Star, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and his "Jump Wings" which he wore with pride. Most importantly he is described by those who served with him as a great and true man. Later in life he became an independent business man and highly respected investigator with the Texas Office of the Attorney General. Throughout his career he made numerous friends and touched the lives of all those who served with him.
Despite his professional achievements, Ken was best known as a warm and loving family man, as well as a highly accomplished golfer. Following his retirement from the OAG, he spent the remainder of his years enjoying his family and playing golf with his many adoring friends. In 2007 he was able to achieve his lifelong dream of traveling to Scotland and playing golf on the Old Course at the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.
The memorial service celebrating Ken's life is March 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 411 Ranch Road 620, Lakeway, TX 78734 with a reception immediately following.
