She was preceded in death and will be greeted in Heaven by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ostrander of Normandy, Missouri and her brother Bradley Ostrander.
Left to cherish in her memory are her loving husband of 49 years, Thomas E. Sheridan; her daughter Kim Sheridan of Austin, Texas, grandson, Nicholas Ledger of Houston, Texas, a granddaughter, Susan Masters and her husband, Brian Masters of Friendswood, Texas, a great grandson, Braeden Masters, a grandson, Jalen Ledger of West Palm Beach, Florida; son and daughter–in-law, Tom Sheridan and wife, Julie Sheridan of Houston, Texas, granddaughters Haley and Faith Sheridan; son and daughter-in-law, Tim Sheridan and wife, Natalie Sheridan of Austin, Texas; and her brother and sister-in-law, Mick Ostrander and his wife Janice Ostrander of St. Louis, Missouri.
Susan was born as the only daughter to Charles and Annette Ostrander in Normandy, Missouri, where she was raised. She graduated from Normandy High School in 1968, where she developed her passion for and competed in swimming.
While in high school, she met her life-long love, Thomas E. Sheridan, who could not have adored her more and forever called her his "Bride." They met at a dance at the Starlight Ballroom when she was 16. Tom was the "boy from the other side of the tracks," and Susan was the "belle of the ball." They were married 2 years later.
After working briefly in the legal field and in real estate, Susan decided to devote her time to the church; her husband; raising her three children, Kim, Tom and Tim; and eventually assisting in the family insurance business.
While she always loved the sun, shopping and food, she had a passion for two main things in life: her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was always available to her husband, her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchild and could usually be found "guiding them all from the side." She was all of their home, base, refuge, supporter and encourager. Additionally, she was always active in Bay Area First Baptist Church while residing in Friendswood, Texas; Gateway City Church while residing in Destin, Florida; and Life Austin Church while residing in Austin, Texas.
