He is survived by his wife, Pat Downing; 3 sons, Andrew & his wife, Cindy, of Seattle, WA, Barney & Rachel, of South Carolina, Robert Mendez & his wife, Emily, of Tehachapi, CA; 1 daughter, Nichole & her husband, Joe, of Lancaster, CA; 2 brothers, Ray Minton of South Carolina & Roy Downing of West Virginia; 1 sister, Georganna Gilham of Ohio. 7 Grandchildren, Chelsea, Austin, Ryan, Melissa, Morgan, Nicholas & Alysia; & 2 great-grandchildren, Dawson & Tessa.

Memorial Donations may be made to your local Veterans Administration.
Visitation services will be Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 4-8 PM at Joshua Mortuary with Graveside services on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 10:15 at Joshua Memorial Park.
