Born April 5, 1943, in Tacoma, Wash. Passed away January 17, 2013, at her home surrounded by family and loved ones. She moved to California with her family as a young girl, went to John Marshall high school and has lived in the Antelope Valley 10 years. Carolyn spent 14 years as a school bus driver for William S. Hart School District. She loved being around the students and they all loved her. She enjoyed sewing, crochet, gardening, bowling, darts and watching the Lakers and the Raiders. She was also a bus driver for the 1984 Summer Olympics. Survived by her sons Norman D. McBride ( Julie) of Palmdale, Calif., Daniel R. McBride (Lisa) of Quartz Hill, Calif., daughter Kelly J. McBride Gardner (Greg) of Palmdale, Calif., grandchildren Robert (Stefanie), Michael, Timothy, Travis and Jeremy, great-grandson Rex Michael Gardner and sister Jenness Michaelson of Oklahoma City. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Norman Bert McBride and by her parents Ida June and Fredrick Lawrence Hicks. Viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, with Services at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, both at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster.
