Dennis Earl Wingfield was born in Altus, Oklahoma to the proud parents of Earnest Lee Wingfield and Eva Lois Wingfield on July 25, 1954. He was one of five (5) children, Ada Jean Brown, Billy Wingfield Sr, Frank Wingfield, and Charles Tucker (Ricky).
He later moved to California where he resided until his death. Dennis met Sandra while working together at Tylan Corporation in Torrance. He was not a perfect person, he made mistakes like all of us, however, he reformed his life and became a role model to his family and community. He worked extremely hard to support his family while attending school to become a counselor.
During his struggles and hardship, he encountered while living apart from his family he realized that was not the life he wanted to live. They reconciled with each other and started a completely new life together. He started his own company (POC) Process of Change, Substance Abuse Counseling group as a Certified Counselor. After receiving his Bachelor Degree he was hired by La County Department of Mental Health. Due to his own firsthand experiences, he was able to counsel and save the lives of others who lost hope in themselves.
His legacy will carry the message to the multitudes who suffer from the lack of insight. The ripple will no doubt save some of our communities.
